Already from the Camp 1 the view is something breathe taking as the mountain shares the col with Huascaran. Also quite easy to climb, the route is straight forward; there is one 80-90m wall of 55-65 degrees before the summit.

ITENERARY

DAY 01: HUARAZ – LLANGANUCO – CHOPICALQUI BASE CAMP 4200 m.

After the breakfast in the Hotel we will aboard with private transport to go along the Callejón de Huaylas in the north side of Huaraz, after driving for 3 hours approx. we will register in the National Parks Control, passing the Llanganuco lakes Chinancocha and Orconcocha, till curva de chopicallqui where we will have Lunch, then in the afternoon we will start walking for 01 hour uphill to the Ancush Valley between Huascaran and Chopicalqui, we will arrive to the Base Camp around 3:00 pm.

DAY 02: BASE CAMP – MORAINE CAMP 4700M

After the breakfast in the Base Camp we will hike up to the Moraine Camp for about 4 hours, during this hike we will enjoy the splendid view in the north site like Pisco, Huandoys and Chacraraju peaks, lunch along the way, after arrive to the camp in the afternoon we will check our climbing equipment for the next day, and early dinner and overnight Camping at (4700m).

DAY 03: MORAINE CAMP – CAMP 1 OF CHOPICALQUI 5500M

After the breakfast we will climb up for about 40 minutes over the rocky paths to get the glacier, where we will put our climbing gears to start climbing for about 3 hours to the Camp 1, where we will enjoy the splendid views of nice peaks like Chacraraju, Huandoys, etc. overnight over the glacier at (5500m).

DAY 04: CAMP 1 – SUMMIT CHOPICALQUI – MORAINE CAMP 4700M

This day is the most important and a little hard to climb, we will leave at 1:00 am in the morning after a light breakfast, climbing for about 5 to 6 hours to the summit (6,354m), in the way we will find steep pieces where to climb cooparating with your leader guide untill get to the summit and  enjoy the views of Huascaran, huandoys, Contrahierba, Pisco, Chacraraju mountain inmediatly we will start descending by same route rappelling and walking to the Camp 01, where the cook will waiting for us  with hot drinking and something to eat, then we will pack our gear and continue go down to Moraine Camp for about 2 more hours arriving around 4:00pm, Overnight Camping at (4700m).

DAY 05: MORAINE CAMP – BASE CAMP – HUARAZ

After the last breakfast in the Moraine Camp of Chopicalqui, we will descend to the Base Camp for about 1 hour and half, continue walking down to the highway called Curva de Chopicalqui, where our transfer will be waiting for us, from here to Yungay will take 2 hours, along this travel we will pass the Llanganuco lake and then we will arrive at the Control of the huascaran national park, where we will registering whit our passport, then we will continue go down to Yungay, after this we will keep journing along the Callejon de Huaylas to Huaraz for about 1 hour more. Arriving to Huaraz around 5:00pm approximately. Transfer to the Hotel then meeting for Dinner at home at the evening.
