Peru Alpine Expedition, a travel agency based on the passion of an official tourist guide, YUNMER DEXTRE CRUZ.

“I grew up in a village with Inca roots, which is part of the famous SANTA CRUZ trek. My mother tongue is Quechua. Since I was a child I used to see people passing through my village by themselves with a backpack and speaking a new language. Then, my first objective was to learn English so I could communicate with them and understand why they walked through those places. Later I understood that they were tourists who traveled for pleasure. With time, hiking through the region was developing more and more, and they started appearing in groups.

Organized with local guides or group leaders, I realized that I already liked being more in contact with tourists and my dream was to become a tour guide.

Throughout my adolescence I lived with the dream to speak English, and studying tourism.

After studying tourism in Huaraz and with 5 years of experience as a guide (working for several companies and guiding many travelers in Peru), I discovered that the benefits of the tourism wasn’t always well shared with the local people. That is why I decided to open my own travel agency.”
